The champs are here! North Shore Knights defeated Babylon 9U 10-0 on Saturday as Luca Ierano and Max Kemnitzer combined to throw a shutout.
North Shore Knights secured the victory thanks to six runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by North Shore Knights was led by Dylan Martella, Kai Ramalho, and Noah Catandella, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Luca Ierano took the win for North Shore Knights. Luca lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six. Max threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Noah went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead North Shore Knights in hits.
The win gave the North Shore Knights the summer 9U championship.
The North Shore Knights are once again headed to the championship after beating West Islip Lions 5-1 for their seventh win in a row.
Luca Ierano earned the victory on the mound for North Shore Knights. Luca lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out eight in sharp outing. Luke Scala threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen to close the door on the Lions.
The Knights got things going in the bottom of the second when Dylan Martella walked, Lucian got on with a hit before Grayson Paul, Grayson Valdes, and Jackson Zuklie drew walks. Noah Catandella then hit a line drive to right center to drive in two runs giving the Knights a 4-0 lead. The Knights added a fifth run in the bottom of the fourth when Grayson Valdes drove in Grayson Paul.
Kai Ramalho, Noah Catandella, and Lucian Othman all had hits to lead North Shore Knights. North Shore Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. The big play came in the top of the third. Lions had first and second with no outs when a hard ground ball was fielded by Luke Scala at first base. He fired to Max Kemnitzer at second base to get the lead runner. Following the throw back from Max on a double play attempt, the Lions sent the runner from second home. Luke fired a strike to Lucian Othman at the plate who applied the tag for the double play.
The Knights will face Babylon in the championship on Saturday, August 6th at 11:30.
Saturday, July 30th - Game 2
Following a strong victory against Half Hollow Hills, North Shore Knights earned a doubleheader sweep by beating the West Islip Lions, 13-4, for their sixth in a row. Jeremy Katz drove in five runs on three hits to lead North Shore Knights past West Islip. Jeremy drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a triple in the third.
North Shore Knights fired up the offense in the first inning, when Luke Scala singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring in Noah Catandella who led off with a line drive single.
North Shore Knights put up seven runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by North Shore Knights was led by Grayson Paul, Max Kemnitzer, Jeremy Katz, Luca Ierano, and Dylan Martella all driving in runs in the frame.
Max Kemnitzer was the winning pitcher for North Shore Knights. Max lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three. Lucian Othman, Jeremy Katz, and Luke Scala all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
North Shore Knights collected 11 hits on the day. Jeremy Katz, Noah Catandella, and Luca Ierano all managed multiple hits for North Shore Knights. Jeremy went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead North Shore Knights 9U in hits. Dylan Martella led North Shore Knights with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
The Knights will face the 4 seed, West Islip Lions, in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday at Tanner Park at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 30th - Game 1
The North Shore Knights won their fifth straight game defeating the Half Hollow Hills Cobras, 15-4 in the first game of a doubleheader. The win secured the first seed in the playoffs.
North Shore Knights fired up the offense in the first inning scoring two runs when Jeremy Katz singled in Noah Catandella and Luke Scala.
North Shore Knights earned the victory thanks to putting across eight runs in the second inning. North Shore Knights put the pressure on led by walks by Jeremy Katz, Dylan Martella, Grayson Paul, and Jackson Zuklie. Max Kemnitzer drove in Grayson Paul on a sacrifice fly and three runners crossed the plate after Luca Ierano’s hit back to the mound led to a bases clearing errant throw.

The North Shore Knights won their fourth straight game by beating Babylon, 11-4, to maintain first place in the division.
North Shore Knights got things moving in the first inning when Luke Scala singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Max Kemnitzer who led off the game with a hit.
Later, North Shore Knights put up five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by North Shore Knights was led by Jeremy Katz, Lucian Othman, Dylan Martella, and Jackson Zuklie, all driving in runs in the frame.
Max Kemnitzer led the North Shore Knights to victory on the hill. The righthander allowed one hit and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Luke Scala closed the door by throwing two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Luke recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for North Shore Knights.
North Shore Knights totaled 13 hits in the game. Dylan Martella, Jeremy Katz, and Luke Scala all collected multiple hits for North Shore Knights. Dylan led North Shore Knights with three hits in four at bats. North Shore Knights tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Max Kemnitzer led the way with three.
The Knights turned a triple play on a defensive gem when Max Kemnitzer made a diving catch off the mound before throwing to Luke Scala who tagged out the runner at second and ran down the runner from first.
The Knights will finish the regular season with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00.

Luca Ierano’s no-hitter and homeruns by Grayson Paul and Lucian Othman power the Knights to a 15-0 win over Half Hollow Hills Cobras. The Knights’ third straight win was a true display of team effort characterized by 14 hits by nine different players, an 8 strikeout no-hitter, and 8 stolen bases.
On the mound, Luca Ierano was his best. He struck out eight Cobras over three innings allowing no hits, no runs and only walking two. In facing only 11 hitters, Ierano recorded the first no-hitter in Knights’ history.
The Knights got things started early in the bottom of the first when Jeremy Katz’s base hit down the third base line drove in Max Kemnitzer and Luke Scala. Luca Ierano then drove in Katz with a base hit to right field. After John Considine walked, Dylan Martella’s single led to a throwing error scoring Considine from second. Grayson Paul then hit a scorcher down the first base line for a two-run homerun to put the Knights up 6-0.
After Ierano’s dominant three strike out second inning on the mound, the Knights got the bats going again. Following hits by Jackson Zuklie and Max Kemnitzer, Luke Scala tripled to center field driving in Jackson and Max. Jeremy Katz followed with his second hit of the game driving in Scala. John Considine’s single later in the inning drove in Katz to put the Knights up 10-0. Dylan Martella’s second hit of the game then drove in Luca Ierano to expand the lead to 11-0.
With two outs in the top of the third inning, the Cobras attempted to steal second base with two outs but Lucian Othman came up firing putting an end to the inning. A perfect throw by Lucian and tag by Luke Scala sent the Knights back up to the plate.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Knights leveraged the run rule once again to end the Cobras’ day. After a single and stolen base by Luke Scala, Jeremy Katz’s third hit of the game drove in Scala to put the Knights up 12-0. Ierano’s walk then put two Knights on the basepaths setting the stage for the best ending. Lucian Othman hit a rocket line drive to left center field in the gap. The three run homerun by Othman ended the game at 15-0.
What a win for the Knights. They look to continue their winning streak Monday night at 8:00 vs. the Half Hollow Hills Cobras.

The North Shore Knights won their second game in a row by beating West Islip 16-4. The win moved the Knights into first place in the division.
The Knights got things started when Luca Ierano drove in Noah Catandella and Max Kemnitzer in the top of the first to give the Knights the early 2-0 lead. Down 4-2 in the top of the second, the Knights exploded for 14 runs puting them in charge of the game, 16-4. A lead they held for the remainder of the game. In the inning, all 11 Knights reached base. With bases loaded, Noah Catandella’s hit drove in Dylan Martella, Grayson Paul, and Jeremy Katz. After Max Kemnitzer’s sacrifice bunt to drive in Jeremy Katz, Luca Ierano’s single drove in Noah Catandella. Later in the inning, following a hit by John Considine and a walk to Cameron Lund, Grayson Valdes’ shot to right field cleared the bases. The Knights loaded the bases again with a hit by Lucian Othman and a few walks before Jeremy Katz’s double down the left field line drove in Lucian and Kai Ramalho.
Overall, the Knights posted eight hits on the night. Luca Ierano led the charge with two hits and four RBIs. Grayson Valdes added three RBIs. Max Kemnitzer earned the win on the mound allowing one earned run. Grayson Paul came in to close the door getting the last three outs of the game to give the Knights the win.
The Knights are back to their winning ways and will face the Half Hollow Hills Cobras on Thursday night under the lights at 8:00 p.m.

The North Shore Knights started the second half of the summer league hot by beating Babylon, 16-0. Jeremy Katz was dominant on the mound with a complete game shutout, striking out six while only surrendering one hit.
The Knights got started in the bottom of the first when Jeremy Katz drove in Noah Catandella to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Luca Ierano then hit a bases clearing double to drive in Max Kemnitzer, Luke Scala, and Jeremy Katz. This shot put the Knights up 4-0.
In an explosive third inning, the Knights scored 11 runs. A strong team effort in the inning where twelve Knights reached base! Katz got the Knights started by driving in Luke Scala. John Considine then followed with an RBI scoring Jeremy Katz. Jackson Zuklie’s bomb shot to left center drove in both Grayson Valdes and Kai Ramalho. After a number of walks, Jeremy Katz’s scorching base hit then scored Jackson Zuklie and Noah Catandella.
The Knights defense was led by great plays by Grayson Valdes at third and Lucian Othman behind the plate when he picked off a kid at first base. You can’t sleep on Lucian.
Overall a big day at the plate for the Knights. They tallied nine hits. Jeremy Katz, Luca Ierano and John Considine all had multiple hit games.
The Knights play West Islip Lions on Tuesday night at Tanner Park under the lights at 8:00 p.m.

NORTH SHORE KNIGHTS BEAT LONG ISLAND VIKINGS IN LOW-SCORING AFFAIR
Both teams were strong on the mound Friday, but North Shore Knights defeated Long Island Vikings, 3-1. North Shore Knights pitchers allowed just two hits. North Shore Knights pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, Kai Ramalho drew a walk, scoring one run and Noah Catandella drew another walk, scoring in an additional run.
Jeremy Katz got the win for North Shore Knights. He pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit an zero runs while striking out six. Luke Scala threw one inning in relief out of the pen.
Grayson Valdes started the game for the Knights. The righty surrendered one run on one hit, striking out one.
Jeremy Katz, Cameron Lund, and Luke Scala all had hits to lead the Knights.
